Watermelon or strawberry watermelon is a summer and cooling fruit that belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family. The origin of watermelon is formed by a fungus of the dark race. The edible part of the watermelon is the green skin and its bottom, inside which is a red or pink core, which is called the “fruit” of the watermelon.

In terms of nutrients, watermelon contains water, sugar, vitamins (such as vitamin C and vitamin A), minerals (such as potassium) and antioxidants. It cools and invigorates the body, and in summer it is used as a popular fruit for fresh consumption and preparation of watermelon juice. Also, watermelon is used in the preparation of salads, desserts, jams and stews.

Due to its water treatment and cooling properties, watermelon is useful for improving body hydration in hot summer days. Also, watermelon can help restore nutrients after exercise because it contains a lot of water and electrolytes.

Finally, watermelon rind can also be used. Watermelon skin is usually a part of the fruit that is not considered, but it can be used in making watermelon compost, jam and pickles.
